Vaginal Birth After Cesarean (VBAC)

Vaginal Birth after Cesarean (VBAC)

The Minnesota Birth Center is very pleased to announce that we are available to support clients who desire a trial of labor after a cesarean birth (TOLAC)!

Our commitment to providing this care is realized now that we have a group of consulting physicians available 24/7 at United Hospital. Previously this was not possible with the call schedule of our physician colleagues at Associates in Women’s Health at Abbott Northwestern.

Clients must not have had more than two previous cesarean births, with a low-transverse incision.

The labor and birth will be at United Hospital, but we will see mothers for routine pregnancy care in both our Minneapolis and St. Paul birth centers.

Please do consider the Minnesota Birth Center when evaluating your provider options.

UPDATE: Effective 11/23/2020 Minnesota Birth Center has returned to United Hospital to serve clients desiring a Vaginal Birth After Cesarean. In instances of high birth volume the MBC midwives may refer laboring clients to the Allina obstetrical team in order to ensure that our team remains available for birth center births.
