Vaginal Birth After Cesarean (VBAC)

Vaginal Birth after Cesarean (VBAC)

Minnesota Birth Center is pleased to support clients who desire a trial of labor after a cesarean birth (TOLAC)! Clients must not have had more than two previous cesarean births, with a low-transverse incision.

Labors for clients planning a vaginal birth after cesarean (VBAC) will be at United or Abbott Northwestern Hospitals. We will see clients for their routine prenatal care at either of our Minneapolis and St. Paul birth centers, per their preference. Clients planning VBAC are not required to attend our birth center Orientation, but are welcome to attend if they would like to meet a midwife and birth assistant and learn more about our overall philosophy of care. Sign up for Orientation here.

In instances of high birth volume the MBC midwives may refer laboring clients to the Allina obstetrical team in order to ensure that our team remains available for birth center births. Contact us with questions.
