Birth Doula Intern Ayan Abdullahi

Birth Doulas - Trained Labor Support Professionals

Hello, my name is Ayan. I came into birth work because of the life-altering experience I had providing support to my sister during the birth of my niece. Since then, doulaing has been a calling that has led me to pursue certification as a doula to support and be a resource to as many mothers as possible.

After graduating with my bachelor’s in Human Resource Development from the University of Minnesota, I have worked as a nanny. In my most recent positions, I have worked as a Human Resource Generalist for health care agencies. I am currently working on my master’s in Parent and Family Education and Youth Development and Leadership.

I am a certified labor and birth educator through the C.O.P.E. program, and I am working toward getting my certificate with DONA International. I hope to be a certified lactation consultant because there is nothing like building a bond with your baby through breastfeeding, and I want to provide mothers with the skills to breastfeed their newborns successfully.
