COVID-19 prenatal visit schedule
The Minnesota Birth Center has modified its prenatal visit schedule in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. Some visits will be offered virtually in lieu of in-person visits. All virtual visits are optional unless otherwise indicated by a midwife, with the exception of those who transferred to MBC after 33 weeks. We ask these “late transfer” clients to keep all virtual visits as well as in-person visits.
We ask that all clients get a thermometer to check their temperature prior to coming to the birth center for in-person visits. The thermometer will also be needed for monitoring postpartum vitals on mom and baby. We also encourage families to get a blood pressure cuff for at-home use, in the event that any in-person visit needs to be delayed. A midwife can write a prescription if that is preferable.
