Minnesota Birth Center is sad to announce that Kerry Dixon, our talented Clinical Director, has resigned her position. Throughout her two-year tenure, Kerry has overseen the exponential growth of the Minnesota Birth Center which has included the opening of our second birth center in St. Paul, as well as adding more options for families with a previous cesarean birth and planned hospital births at United Hospital. She has mentored many of the midwives at MBC and has shepherded myriad families through their sacred birthing times. The families and colleagues that Kerry has touched will never forget her gentle, wise ways. Kerry’s last day with Minnesota Birth Center is January 27th.
Though we will miss Kerry, we are excited to announce that Mary-Signe Kelly and Katie Ireland will be taking over the position of Clinical Director. Mary-Signe has been with the Minnesota Birth Center since its inception and has watched it grow from a four-person organization to an organization of over 40 people. She brings experience, knowledge, and unbridled enthusiasm to the role of Clinical Director. Katie Ireland has worked with families in labor and birth since 1999 and has been with the Minnesota Birth Center since 2015. She brings humor, passion, and a willingness to look at things from all sides.
Minnesota Birth Center will continue to provide excellent out-of-hospital and in-hospital care to the families of the Twin Cities. We are honored to be a part of each of our clients’ lives and/or birth stories. We have cherished the opportunity to be a part of over 1000 births since we opened our doors in 2012 and we will cherish the next 1000 just as dearly.
